We didn't bother with any of the special features because simpler is better for her. We bought this phone for my 89-year-old mother. It's a terrific choice. She jokingly said that with those nice big buttons, she won't be calling the "wrong people" any more. The maximum volume is adequate for her moderate hearing impairment, but the speaker-phone option is not.
Yes, it's cheap, so I guess I shouldn't expect much. The speakerphone part worked, but the handset/receiver never worked straight out of the box. It was not worth shipping back and paying $7.00 for postage. It's going to go into the trash.
I bought this phone for my mother because of failig eye sight she is very happy with it.
and still going strong, great phone , fast shipper. my grandmother is very hard of hearing, and i purchased this for her ,loud ringer and she can hear the reciever.
I was very pleased with the item. The telephone was a perfect addition to my aunts home.
